Boot Camp - .NET Core and Web security
In this 5-day Boot Camp, we go through everything needed to become a complete .NET developer. It includes ASP.NET Core where we explain what you need to know to use the framework efficiently and develop testable solutions, but also the importance of Web security.
Today, the Third World War is on the Internet and not being able to be safe is like driving a car without a driving license, it is misconduct! There are challenges in making a making a site safe and today's developers do not always know the security aspects of safe development. The problem is also in keeping up with the rapid development. More security holes arise with the trend that we add more and more functionality to the browsers.
The week is combined with practical and theoretical experiences while at the same time we live and breathe code. In addition to new knowledge, we will organize a joint dinner and AW during the week.
This Boot Camp is meant to existing web developers with experience in .NET who want to learn .NET Core. Today, most developers are on the .NET Framework and one should eventually switch to learning .NET Core.
We will give your ASP.NET Core development a solid start - in the right direction! We pick out and explain the things you need to know in order to use the framework effectively and develop testable solutions. While the course has a focus on practical skills, it also takes the time to explain important underlying concepts, including how HTTP works, the MVC design pattern, the TDD workflow and dependency inversion.
You will learn:
- Web fundamentals
- Introduction to ASP.NET Core
- The request pipeline
- Introduction to MVC
- Testing with xUnit
- Dependency Inversion
- Razor View Engine
- Database and Entity Framework Core
- Web API
- Introduction to Razor pages
The web is a great software delivery platform, making your software available to users around the world with zero installation and easily deployed updates. Unfortunately, it also exposes you to an army of adversaries - some human, some bot - who have darker goals: to cause loss to your data or reputation, subvert your resources for their own gain or attack your user base.
During the Boot Camp we will help you develop a security-oriented mindset. It explores the way the web works, so you have a way to understand how various vulnerabilities arise. Then, with those foundations laid, it covers a range of common and less common vulnerabilities, how an attack based on them would be constructed, and how you can recognize and defend against them.
You will learn:
- Cross Site Scripting
- Content Security Policy
- Cross site request forgery (CSRF)
- Authentication & Authorization
- Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks
- Password management
- Information leakage
- Logging & monitoring
- Attacking and securing our site
